All I want for Christmas is to go to a steak restaurant in London for less than a million pounds…
And what do you know? Just like that The Bookatable Christmas Angels have done it again!!! They have sprinkled their magical Christmas sparkle dust over their menus and made all of my steak dreams come true.
So as you know, this October I was extremely lucky to be invited to try Bookatable’s special offer menus for London Restaurant Festival, and when they contacted me again to try their special Christmas menu’s I excitedly accepted within 0.1 seconds. I know, I know, play it cool Sammy.
Bookatable have released some fantastic offers on their website ranging from festive afternoon teas to traditional roast dinners with all the trimmings across London and The UK, but for me it was an absolutely no brainer that I decided to try STK’s new festive menu.
Now let me start off by saying that this wasn’t my first time at STK- in fact it was my forth time and I adore it more each time I visit. I have celebrated many a birthday, hen and wedding celebration here- mostly on a Saturday night where everyone gets dressed up to the nines and the atmosphere is totally electric. (Girlies this is honestly the BEST place to come with your squad for a night of fun).
But this time round it was a totally new experience. We went on a late Sunday afternoon for date night, and it was such a chilled and relaxing time. Of course I brought the hubs along because he is just a big foodie as I am- there’s a reason why we call ourselves piggies on tour lately- because all we seem to do when we are together is eat oops.
I chose to come back to STK because not only is it one of the most fun and yummiest restaurants in London, but my gosh it is simply stunning.
STK is part of The ME Hotel in Holborn and to enter the restaurant you have to walk through the exquisite reception lobby which is adorned in crystals and flowers and smells like a total dream.
Once you step into the nightclub, I mean restaurant, it is easy to see why it has become one of the most instagrammable places in the city. No matter what time of day the gigantic room has a bright purple lighting setting (heaven) where plush leather booths are scattered across the room and has glitterballs, sparkles and flowers dotted everywhere in sight.
The central bar is the heart of the restaurant, which sits in the middle of the room next to a DJ booth which pumps out clubby beats, instantly giving off serious party vibes. I was having fun before I even sat down. Even going to the toilets is an experience. To visit the ladies you have to walk down a spiral staircase with a beautiful marble flooring. Photo heaven but not so much fun for all the girls in louboutins!
But guys… I haven’t even told you the best bit yet.. the food of course!
Bookatable and STK have absolutely smashed it this season and they are currently offering three courses and a glass of champagne for £30.
THIS. IS. NOT. A. DRILL.
To start off I of course ordered the most famous burgers in town, those divine lil brgrs that STK are renowned for. Honestly these alone are enough to fill you up. The beef is so juicy and tasty and just the right size to leave you filled up and satisfied but still wanting so much more.
It goes without saying that we both ordered the rump steak. And the only way to describe this is wow. STK’s special sauce was drizzled all over the steak and the flavour was so delicious. It was a bit like spicy bbq sauce, but tasted really unique and not like anything I’ve ever had before, which was so exciting to try something new. We had French fries and creamed spinach on the side, and it really was such high quality and tasty food.
Unfortunately we had no room for dessert. JOKING. You lot know me by now and I am NEVER one to turn down a cake or too ha. So to finish off the most amazing day was the dessert of dreams. And if you are offended by the colour pink then turn away now.
Okay I actually screamed in excitement when this beast of a sundae was laid out in front of my eyes. I was like a kid in a candy store. In one giant bowl STK managed to squeeze in chocolate and cinnamon ice-cream, candyfloss, popcorn, salted caramel fudge and gingerbread. I meeeeeeean!
I would honestly give this festive experience a 10/10. All this wonderful food for £30 per person is just too good to be true. If I were you I would get in there quick before Christmas is over and all that’s left in its place is a dark and depressing January with £50 steaks. 😉
Thank you STK, and Bookatable for the best possible start to Christmas!
Guys, Bookatable’s festive menus are ongoing until Christmas so please make sure you check out all of their amazing offers to give yourself a merry little Christmas!!!
