Hawksmoor Seven Dials review

So my sister’s wedding is officially over… and I was in DESPERATE need of something to look forward to, to stop the major wedding blues from kicking in.

Well lucky for me ‘Bookatable’ was my fairy godmother and answered all of my prayers as they kindly invited me to eat at one of their restaurants during London Restaurant Festival.

London Restaurant Festival is running throughout the whole of October, where hundreds of the yummiest restaurants across the city put on incredible offers and dining experiences. You can choose between Michelin starred restaurants, classy afternoon teas or a top steak house- exciting right!!!!

This could not have come at a more perfect time for me. The wedding diet was a distant memory and I was ready to tuck in and have a feast.

But the first major question? With hundreds of incredible options, which restaurant was I going to pick?

After having a browse of their restaurants on https://www.bookatable.co.uk/london-restaurant-festival,  it was a total no brainer that I chose The Hawksmoor Seven Dials as my restaurant of choice.

Not only is The Hawksmoor (in my opinion) the best and yummiest Steak House in London, they are currently doing the BEST offer. Throughout October and November you can get two courses for £25 or three courses for £30 including a cocktail. It’s like Christmas has come early! This is on a set menu basis, but the options are fantastic, and a fussy eater like myself found that I still had lots of great options to choose from.

(Their fantastic special London Restaurant Festival Menu)

Now anyone that has visited the dreamy Hawksmoor branch before knows that a night out there does not usually come cheap. But that is why it is so exciting because it is usually a place you would go to for a very special occasion and splash out and is why their offer is so fantastic. You get all of the stunning food, but all for such a good price I couldn’t quite believe my eyes.

I called the hubby in excitement to let him know that we had the date night of all date nights to look forward too…

The day finally arrived and we headed to The Hawksmoor for an early evening meal. Minutes away from Covent Garden Station, The restaurant is tucked away down a side street. Blink and you might miss it.

The very large and grand door opens up to a small reception area, where a long staircase takes you down to the secret giant warehouse where the main restaurant and bar can be found.

I have visited three out of their six branches in London and I must say Seven Dials is my favourite so far. It is exquisitely beautiful with so much atmosphere and a real exciting buzz to the place.

The restaurant which has been converted from a brewery has so much character, where its exposed brick walls and parquet flooring are the main décor making it seem extremely cosy. The low brick ceilings also support cast iron pillars that are surrounded throughout the restaurant. I could easily move in haha! Sunday was an extremely wet and windy day so their cosy vibes felt like the perfect setting.

But now for the part you have all been waiting for… the food….and oh boy did we eat!

We both decided to jump straight into the main course and ordered the 35 day dry rump and triple cooked chips, which were both cooked to perfection. I do usually love a starter, but sometimes my eyes are bigger than my belly and I get so full from the starter I always leave parts of my main. I was determined not to do this and waste any of the exquisite steak this time round. We both shared the side dishes of greens and buttered spinach and OMG it was truly to die for. For the sauces, Wayne decided to get the Peppercorn sauce, and I opted for the gravy. (Which made the chips EVEN tastier)

I honestly think the Hawksmoor is the best place to get a steak in London. The Meat is dry aged and sourced from the UK and is so juicy and tasty. We were so happy and content as the portion size was perfect. I was totally full up but still felt like I had lots of room for dessert.

Now speaking of dessert, we were well and truly spoilt for choice with options, however there was only going to be one winner. TREACLE! I mean did you even go to the Hawksmoor if you didn’t get their divineeee treacle pudding?? In all seriousness this is one of the best desserts I have ever had. The sponge was light and fluffy, and the sauce was sweet and piping hot, which when eaten together made the perfect mix of flavours. (This dessert wasn’t part of the offer but Hawksmoor kindly still let me have it instead)

Wayne chose the treacle sundae, which was part of the offer and although I can’t comment on the taste, the fact he devoured it within ten seconds sums up how much he enjoyed it!

The special offer menu offer also includes a cocktail each and there are lots of stunning flavours to choose from.

Overall we had the most fantastic night. Stunning food, in a gorgeous setting what more could a girl want!

Thank you SO much for having us Hawksmoor and Bookatable, we are well and truly stuffed and are counting down the days till we get to come back again.
